Job numbers, prefixes and reference numbers
Brisk automatically numbers jobs and other records for you.
Under Settings → Organisation Profile, you can configure the prefix used at the beginning of these numbers.
For example, Hartwell Heating might use:
HH
Its first job would then look something like:
HHJ001
Different types of records have their own identifying letter, such as jobs, enquiries, quotes, invoices and purchase orders.
These letters need to remain unique.
Editing job numbers
There's also a setting called Allow admins to edit job numbers on Job Details.
When enabled, an Admin can manually change a job number from the Job Details screen.
This can be useful while getting Brisk set up or when you have a particular numbering requirement, but it's normally best to let Brisk handle job numbering automatically wherever possible.
