Changelog
25/09/2026
- Mobile app – new version submitted. This includes a few time logging fixes: editing an existing timelog on the phone now actually updates the start/end times (it could previously ignore the change, or save as 00:00–00:00). Time logged against a job should no longer end up on a different job because of a clash with an old local job id on the phone. The dashboard pie chart also now matches the web app – hours to 2 decimal places, and annual leave is included instead of showing as unlogged.
- Timelog custom Yes/No question – there is now a rule in Settings > Timelogging to only record Yes once per day. If someone has already ticked Yes on that day (e.g. “Do you wish to claim travel time?”), later timelogs that day won’t count another Yes. On the phone the box is locked once it has already been used that day. Calendars and dashboards show a small ticked checkbox on those entries, with the question in the legend so you can see what it means.
- Purchase orders – adding a PO line to a sales order now uses the unit price shown at the time, so you shouldn’t get a £0 sales order line from a margin that hadn’t saved. Price changes autosave, so there isn’t a separate Update button to forget. On the purchase order edit page you can add individual lines to the sales order rather than having to take the whole PO in one go. The main Purchase Orders page now defaults to showing POs not yet received / added to a sales order, and after you receive/add to SO from that page it takes you back there instead of jumping to the job sales order.
- Sales orders – if a product line is sitting at £0, there is now a warning at the top of the job sales order page. You can fix the line yourself, or apply a margin (default 20%) to all the £0 lines that have a cost.
- Job and invoice emails – you can now attach completed job forms. Draft forms are no longer listed as if they were finished.
- QR labels – new A4 layout option for 16 labels per page (2 × 8, 99.1 × 34 mm), alongside the existing paper sizes.

- Mobile app – v1.1.2 published.
- Job forms – answers now auto-save themselves as you go, on the web, the public job page, and the mobile app. If someone leaves the form they should be able to pick up where they left off, including offline on the phone (it will sync when they’re back online). Drafts also show who last updated the form and when.
- Job Contact (if different) – new fields on the job for name, phone and email of the person at the property/site. This stays on the job and is not added as a customer contact. Customer contacts stay reserved for people who work at the customer (e.g. the housing association office), rather than the resident in the house. Email intake now puts those end-user details into this job contact instead of updating the customer or adding them as a customer contact. On the mobile app this shows on job screens, with tap to call or email. Job forms can also autofill from the job contact where the template supports it.
- RAMS signatures – there is now a company-wide default in Settings > RAMS for whether new RAMS documents require signatures (still Yes by default, to match current behaviour). You can override this on a customer, and still change it on an individual job as before. So if most of your work doesn’t need signatures you can turn the default off, but keep it on for a particular customer.
- New invoice template option – Condensed Labour. This groups all timelogs by hourly rate into one line per rate (e.g. 4 hours @ £40 and 10 hours @ £35), and still lists materials and charges separately.
- Mobile app – stocked items on a job now puts “Add stocked item” at the top, and invoiced lines are no longer shown on this screen so you’re only looking at what you can still change.

- Mobile app sync issues – hopefully fixed the issues with some changes in the app becoming “stuck” and not syncing to the server fully. I’ve also added a new feature in the More > Sync Status page so if any item does get stuck the user can tap the Send Diagnostic button, which opens an email for them to send me all the important info about the state of their app, which will hopefully give some clues about what went wrong.
- Mobile app – Biometric option for logging in. This “should” pop up automatically for users, but if not there is an option in More > Settings to enable biometrics. This means Brisk can be unlocked by whatever means the user can unlock their phone. Sometimes that is a device PIN, sometimes face unlock, etc.
- Calendars – Brisk used a calendar plugin but it was proving too limiting in what it could do. The calendars have now been replaced with a custom built calendar. This avoids the annoying “+2 more” labels that would appear, so all events are shown. The master calendar uses an endless scroll to move through the months, and each day is clickable to add a new event, hopefully making the calendars much more intuitive to use. The mobile app calendar has been modified to match this as well.
- Events – there is now an option to add “adhoc events” inside the Calendar section of the menu. This could be for e.g. someone going to the dentist, or a company Christmas party, or any other event that’s non job related. These events can be tagged to individual users so it shows in their calendars.
- Training Sessions – Inside the Trainings area there is a new Training Sessions page. Previously the Training section let you track expiry dates, but if you have an upcoming training session booked there was no way to log this. Now you can add a training session, tag people and have it appear in their calendar. A session can cover more than one day. After it runs, Record attendance lets you tick who was there and set qualification date, expiry, and certificate, which is what actually updates their training record.
- Training sessions and future planned events (e.g. Job Schedules) are in the user calendars, and if you click on them they have the option to log their time. This is an important step because Brisk will not assume the user has attended anything. A user could be tagged on a training session, but this does not automatically convert into a logged timelog; it is up to the user to log their time, but Brisk now offers an easy way to log a timelog based on an event by clicking on it from their calendar.
- Jobs – New option to tag who is on the job. This acts similar to a job officer, but allows multiple people. You can add or remove people from a job, and this helps that job appear by default for the user in the web and mobile job lists.
- POs – bug fixes including the Update button on the main purchase orders page wasn’t working, and a PO with multiple lines would not send all lines to the SO, which has now been fixed.
- Training matrix page – this quickly becomes a very big page as users and training types grow. The page now locks the heading and user column in place so you can scroll and keep sight of what and who you are looking at.
- Annual leave admin page hides the previous and next year stats by default, which is still available by clicking the toggle option, since this won’t be needed 99% of the time.
- Staff reports – new column for Normal Paid Time. Basically all NT and activity time recorded, to give you a total of worked time MINUS overtime.
- New document templating options – in the Settings > Documents tab there are options to customise the layout of various documents Brisk creates. You can also add optional text to each document. It covers POs, quotes, invoices, job cover sheets, progress reports, and statements.
- Mobile app – jobs list page has a swipe action to quickly add Time or a PO to the job. There are now options in the Settings page in the web app to customise these swipe options. So for example if you use Charges often you can set this up to be included in this job swipe menu. There is room for up to 4 actions.
- New section for users called Personal Equipment. This is where you can record issuing any equipment. For example PPE items, mobile phones, new laptop, etc. This means if someone asks for a new pair of work boots you can see when the last pair was issued along with notes, so you could record the exact brand and model, where you got it from, etc. This can help track how often certain items are issued, or who maybe is long overdue a new pair of work trousers. Users can see their own issued items in their own profile too.
- Users – in the personal info tab there is an option for their date of birth. User birthdays are shown in the master calendar, and Brisk will show a little “Happy Birthday” message next to their name when they log into the web app or mobile app.
- App push notifications – There is a new option in the settings page to “Only send push notifications during work hours”. When selected Brisk will use the working hours for each user and hold any push notifications outwith those hours until the next suitable time. This also takes annual leave into the equation so it won’t send push notifications to a user if they are on annual leave with this option selected. You can also go to the Users > Notifications page to override this per user. For example you can enable “Only send push notifications during work hours” to cover all your staff, but if you as the manager want to keep getting notifications at all times you can go to the Users > Notifications page and use the dropdown to choose to send your notifications immediately.
- Notifications page – can also control who gets various notifications. E.g. if you have an admin user that doesn’t approve annual leave you could disable that automatic alert for that user.
- User PO number ID – Brisk currently uses a unique user number when creating PO numbers. You can now change this per user to e.g. be their initials, by editing a user and changing their display ID. This ID needs to be unique within your company, but gives you the option to make the resultant PO numbers a bit more relevant/recognisable for users.
- Job Docs/Photos can now be renamed and categorised, in both web and app.
- RAMS – There is an option to manually upload any additional RAMS docs, e.g. if you have a pdf from outwith Brisk you can attach it to the RAMS section of the job.
- Products – the inventory did not go up/down when you were buying/selling individual products, this is now fixed.
- New options to control access for some elements of Brisk, based on the user licence. Go to Users > Access where you can specify if supervisors and standard users can access enquiries/quotes.
- Quotes – New option to change the “title” of the document between Quote or Estimate, so you can create a document and have it say Estimate at the top. This is really just a cosmetic change and doesn’t change much with Brisk, but could be important for you depending on who the customer is.
- Mobile app – now includes training, in More > Training.
- Maps are locked by default on web and mobile, to save you accidentally moving the pin when scrolling, clicking or tapping. You now would need to unlock the map before moving the pin.
- Enquiries – New notes area and ability to change the status (e.g. to archive an enquiry).
- Option to rotate an image. Sometimes images can lose their orientation when being taken on a mobile phone, so you can now rotate them to correct any orientation issues.
- QR label print options – there is a new option in the Settings > Documents tab to set your label printer size (e.g. A4 21 per page). You can also build up a print job by selecting products a bit like building up a basket in an ecommerce website. This means you can select e.g. 21 different products to add to the print job, then print these labels in one go. It should then take the sizing info you set and print it correctly.
- Products – If you set the Unit type of a product to anything other than each (e.g. Box) there is an option to set the Qty (e.g. Qty: 100). This appears on the QR label to make it more clear what that product is.
- Customer logos – On the customer add/edit page you can upload a logo. It shows on quotes, job cover sheets, and progress reports.
- Timelog overlap warning – If a new entry overlaps time already logged, web and app warn you before saving. But it will still let you add overlapping timelogs, it just warns you.
- Timelog helper buttons – there are new buttons to select all day (or if they have a break there will be morning and afternoon buttons) to prefill the times based on their working hours, as another way to make logging timelogs easier for the user.

- Quotes in Brisk used to be treated the same as a job, meaning they took a job number. That didn’t really make sense, as a quote comes before it becomes a job. Quotes have now moved out of the Jobs part of the menu into their own section, so we now have Enquiries and Quotes as ways to feed into jobs.
- Mobile app – new version going live overnight and into tomorrow, so I’d expect all users to automatically be on the newest version within a couple of days. This includes these new sections in the “… More” menu:
- Enquiries
- Quotes
- Job Map
- Mobile app – new option to search assets and vehicles when on those pages.
12/08/2026
- Mobile app – new version will show existing charges already added to a job, and let you edit them.
- Mobile app – new in-app announcement popup that I can control from the server, so it is now possible to publish a temporary message to all mobile users, e.g. if a new app update is available.
- Web and mobile both allow a charge to be added with a blank price, so the user can quickly add this and an admin can enter the price later.
- Timelog activities – When adding a timelog and changing from Job to Activity there is a dropdown to choose what activity the user was doing. These options were built in and not editable. There is now an option in Settings > Timelogging to add your own activity types so you can add as many different types as you wish.
- If you select an activity type, that name is automatically entered into the description field, making it faster for users to enter this type of timelog.
- Email intake – Improvements to how it reads through an attached document, so it is more likely to find the correct job info if it is within an attached PDF rather than in the email body text.
- Email intake – better options to manually map fields to an attachment, so if Brisk can’t get the right information automatically you can “train” it slightly to hopefully let it find the info you need.
- Job due date – there is now an optional “no due date” to remove this from jobs where relevant.
- Follow-up to the job number override added on 10/08 – given this should probably only need to be used when initially onboarding your existing jobs onto Brisk, I’ve added an option in Settings to hide this, to avoid accidentally changing the job number.
- New Jobs > Job Map page. If you’ve set the map pin for jobs they will show up on this map, colour coded to the current job status. This hopefully makes it easier to find nearby jobs. E.g. if you have some guys going to Unst and they finish early, this map can easily show you if there are any other jobs in Unst they could go to, or generally help plan out routes if there are several small jobs in one area.
- New invoice template option – Single Line (Job Description). Similar to the existing Single Line option where it adds all time and material into a single line, but this option takes the text entered in the Job Details textbox as the text used on the invoice.
- Job forms – improvements to the scheduling options for forms on jobs.
10/08/2026
- Job Forms – We have a Brisk Forms Library where you have the option to import example forms, check or edit them before having them available for use in your jobs. Since the form section is new, if you have any forms you want to have in your account feel free to send it over to me and I will try to recreate it in Brisk for you.
- Job Forms – in the Jobs > Forms tab you have the option of adding forms to a job to mark them as required, along with optionally assigning it to a user, setting a due date, or setting a recurring frequency (e.g. a form needs to be completed every week).
- Jobs public QR code – In Jobs > Communication > Public Page there is an option to Enable a Public Page for that job, along with options of what info to display, and any forms you wish to make available. E.g. you can have a site visitor form made up in the Forms section, then add it to the job public page, then print the A4 poster and have it on the job site. Anyone can scan this to view job info, and have the option to complete any forms you have added.
- RAMS – The risk assessment section has been renamed to RAMS, with the current functionality unchanged to allow a single PDF doc to be attached depending on what was ticked on the job risk assessment form. We now have the option in Settings > RAMS to change this to separate the risk assessment and method statement so this shows up as 2 separate sections in the job risk assessment.
- RAMS – the risk assessment header questions, where you can set a custom question to ask at the top of every risk assessment, now include the option to have a multiple choice-type question.
- Job Number override – In the job details page there is now an option to override the autogenerated job number. This is mainly for new accounts on Brisk who may already have a list of jobs and internally assigned job numbers. You can now go into the job details page and manually change the job number. As long as it is not already in use, Brisk will let you change this number. When creating a new job, Brisk will always find the largest number set across your jobs and use the next number, to keep the auto incremental numbering making sense.
- Subcontractors – There is a new section in the admin-only part of the menu to create subcontractors, with businesses and personnel within each business. You can then select any documentation required for the business or for individuals, and create a secret URL to send to the business or individual for them to complete their own info and provide the required documentation straight into Brisk. Subcontractors added here are available to select when completing a risk assessment, or you can continue to type in ad-hoc subcontractor names as before.
- Company documents – A new standalone section not linked to anything else in Brisk, where you can upload other business documents not already covered by the assets, vehicles, or policy documents sections. This will be for e.g. electricity contracts, insurance policies, lease agreements, or anything else you might want to store. This can have an expiry set so Brisk can help you track any of these other non-job related documents a company needs.
- RAMS starter pack – similar to the Forms library in Brisk, there is now a basic starter pack available in the RAMS section to give some examples of RAMS documents. An important note here is Brisk only gives you a starting point; each document you take from this starter pack to use will still need to be checked, modified and approved by you before use. This was to avoid having a completely blank slate for new accounts, but I guess could also be useful for established accounts if we were to expand this feature.
- Timelogs – there is a new option in Settings > Timelogging to give you the chance to ask your users a yes/no question when completing a timelog. For example “Do you wish to claim travel time?” or “Did you use your own vehicle?”. If you don’t need to ask this type of question this can be ignored.
- Timelogs – there is a new “locked” state for timelogs to avoid users going back into an existing timelog and changing the details. We already stopped this after the timelog gets invoiced, but there was no protection for staff reports, so now in Settings > Timelogging there is an option to automatically lock a timelog after x days. An admin still has the ability to unlock a timelog if they need to edit anything.
- Timelogs – If a user hasn’t had their hourly rate set properly before adding a timelog, that timelog could end up going in at £0. Updating the user hourly rate after this won’t have any effect, because the timelog rate is “rubber stamped” at the time of entry. There is now a new button on the timelogs edit screen to Update Rate, which fetches the user’s current hourly rate.
- Customisable annual leave date. By default Brisk assumes the cutoff for annual leave is 1st Jan. You can now change this in the Settings page.
- Purchase order numbers – Although I am a big fan of the current PO number structure, I’m aware not everyone shares my enthusiasm. The format e.g. GTS-005-47-012-M tells me the PO was raised at GTS, for job no 005 by user 47, user 47’s 12th PO, and it was made on the mobile app. This gives info to admin, while minimising the chance of duplicates. The only parts we absolutely need are the user id and their PO number, i.e. 47-012; the rest are all “nice to have”. Therefore in the Settings page there are options to disable the other parts of a PO number so you can find your own compromise between readability, small risk of duplication, and keeping it simple for users. If you change this it will only affect new POs from then on; any existing POs will remain in the format they were when the PO was raised.
- Sage integration – This used to gather way too much info and took forever. It also didn’t show much sign of progress so it appeared to lock up the system. If you already have Sage linked you can go to Customers > Import and use the Import from Sage option. This is done in 2 steps. First it finds all your customers from Sage and lists them all, giving you the option to tick/untick any. Second, you import the ones you’ve selected, and Brisk fetches the full details for those customers only.
- Enquiries – Now lets you attach files, which would then be carried into the job if a job gets created from the enquiry.
Various minor bug fixes:
- Annual leave on mobile app sometimes not able to select dates (to follow in the upcoming app update)
- Fixed invoice accounting dates displaying as mm/dd instead of dd/mm
- Custom job letters sometimes not being used
- Annual leave reports page error
- Clean up minor UX and design issues
- Company docs AI wasn’t working properly
